Montessori Toddler Education: Engaging and Encouraging from the Beginning
This is the time when your children are using their bodies, senses and their emerging problem-solving skills to learn about and make sense of their world in the ways most meaningful and effective for them.
Dr. Montessori was one of the first educators to recognize that these first few years of a child’s life are critical to the development of personality and intellect. At this age, children are actively seeking out information, and learn quickly and easily. Toddlers are especially interested in demonstrating their independence. Montessori Unlimited allows them the freedom to learn as much as they can, as quickly as possible.
Our educators give toddlers responsive, individualized attention to help them build their skills in these five important areas:
- Sensory and Perception
- Self-Help
- Language
- Physical and Motor Skills
- Social and Emotional Growth
Montessori Primary (Ages 3-6)
Primary Program: Teaching the Fundamentals in a Whole New Way
As children get older, they tend to see things that adults find ordinary as very interesting and special. Practical life exercises like sorting, pouring, washing dishes or polishing shoes absorb them completely.
At Montessori Unlimited, we recognize this as the beginning of control and coordination of mind and body. That’s why Montessori learning revolves around tangible experiences. Children use concrete materials to learn math; movable alphabets to explore language; and cubes, cylinders and other objects to categorize, find spatial relationships and more.
Our broad-based Primary Program includes:
- Science and Nature
- Music and Movement
- Sensorial
- Cooking and Nutrition
- Cultural Awareness
- History
- Geography
- Language Arts
- Mathematics
Montessori Elementary (Ages 6-12)
Elementary Program: Molding Unique and Sensitive Individuals
With a solid foundation laid, this is the stage at which your children are ready to learn abstract principles.
At Montessori Unlimited, our unique educational philosophy and educators are perfectly suited to take education to the next level. We encourage children to work at their own pace in a non-competitive atmosphere, to gain an understanding of themselves and develop a sensitivity to others. Children may work alone or in groups, all in an atmosphere of courtesy and respect. Montessori teachers are able to focus a great deal of individual attention on children. While in groups, older children share their knowledge and get children excited about learning.
Our Elementary Program approach combines physical and emotional development with academic disciplines:
- Language Arts
- Mathematics
- Social Studies
- Foreign Language
- Geometry
- Science
- Art
- Music
